Incidentally, a web search tells us Houghton (pronounced HOE ton) County is located on the southern edge of Lake Superior, in the northwestern portion of Michigan's upper peninsula. Further, Gibbs, "The Real-Photo Locator", lists Houghton (the town), as the only Houghton in Houghton County. And for our last tid bit, the county was started in 1848 and named after Douglass Houghton.
